10 Day Aftercare
Colour will appear extremely dark for the first few days after your tattoo and may stay like this for up to a week. Your brows are healing and should be treated as an open wound. The first 10 days are important for protecting the pigment and allowing the skin to heal correctly.
• DO NOT TOUCH the tattooed area with unclean fingers. Avoid touching, picking or scratching your brows while they heal.
• DO NOT WET your brows for 10 days. Avoid showers directly over the brows ensuring you use your aftercare visor for the first 2 days and keep water away from the treated area.
• NO HEAT OR SWEATING for 10 days. Avoid exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga and activities that cause excessive sweating.
• DO NOT APPLY ANYTHING ELSE to the brow area for 10 days. This includes makeup, cleanser, moisturiser, SPF, serums, oils and other skincare products.
DAYS 1–2
For the first 2 days, gently wipe your brows with the sterile water wipes provided to remove any lymph fluid. Repeat once a day. Do not apply cream to your brows during the first 2 days.
DAYS 3–6
For the following 4 days, apply a very thin smear of the cream provided. This will help minimise itching and flaking. Less is best — do not over-apply.
DAYS 7–10
Your brows will start to scab, peel or flake this is all completely normal. Continue protecting your brows from water, heat, sweating and skincare products. You can continue using the cream sparingly if needed for dryness or itching.
• IMPORTANT: Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin may completely cover the tattooed area making your brows appear very light. It can look as though the tattooed area has disappeared. Within 1–2 weeks, the tattoo will gradually reappear at a lighter shade as the skin regenerates.
• DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH dry skin or flaking. Let the skin fall away naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment.
AFTER 10 DAYS
Once the 10-day aftercare period is complete, you can cease applying the cream and resume your normal skincare routine.
• MAKEUP: Avoid applying makeup directly to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks.
• BROW TINT / BLEACH / DYE: Do not bleach, tint or dye the tattooed area for 1 month following the procedure.
• ACTIVE SKINCARE: Avoid anti-acne products (including Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid), lightening creams such as Hydroquinone, and facial products containing AHAs or BHAs on the tattooed area while healing.
• WAX / THREADING / HAIR REMOVAL: Avoid all hair removal for the first 2 weeks.
ONCE HEALED
Once your eyebrows are completely healed, any changes that need to be made can be done at your follow-up appointment, no sooner than 4 weeks.
Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discolouration of the pigment. To ensure longevity wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection.
AHAs, BHAs, chemical peels and/or products must be kept away from the tattooed area as continued use may lighten the pigment.
If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal once your tattoo is healed, please inform the laser technician. Continue at your own discretion. Laser procedures may darken, lighten or discolour the tattooed area.
